Kolhapur Police win general championship

Kolhapur, Oct 30 (UNI) The Kolhapur district police today lifted the general championship by securing highest 134 points in the Kolhapur range sports competition conducted at police parade ground here.

Sangli district police who secured 91 points, had to be content with runners-up position in the competition.

Some 522 policemen, comprising Kolhapur Range covering districts such as Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur and Pune Rural, participated in various events in the competition played during the past three days here.

Kolhapur District Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil gave away the award to the winner at a function organised after the event. It was attended by Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, District Collector Pravin Darade, Kolhapur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kunal Kumar and top police officials.
