Jeev's win is like winning an Olympic gold medal: Shiv Kapur

Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) Country's top professional golfer Shiv Kapur today termed the achievement of Jeev Milkha Singh who won the Volvo Masters title in Spain yesterday, as like ''winning the Olympic gold medal''.

This (Jeev's win) is something so big and people have not yet got an idea of how big it actually is.

This victory of Jeev is not just big news for Indian golf, but also for Indian sport, said Shiv Kapur, who was in Mumbai to promote the ICICI Bank Private Banking Golf Masters.

Shiv Kapur compared Jeev's feat to Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore winning the silver medal in the Olympics. "It is as big as winning a gold medal in the Olympic Games," he said.

Shiv Kapur said ''this win is a huge achievement which is second only to winning one of the majors.

Like it happened when India won the cricket World Cup in 1983, people got icons to look upto and they wanted to follow in their footsteps, this win by Jeev will also have a similar effect on the youngsters and they would also look upto and want to follow in Jeev's footsteps, Shiv Kapur added.
