IT Cos should spread wings to tier II cities: YSR

Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said IT companies should spread wings to tier II cities for balanced growth of all regions in the state.

He made the remarks during a review meeting with IT Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and officials, an official press release today said.

To achieve this objective, it was decided to allot land for IT incubation centres for first generation entrepreneurs at Warangal, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Besides, IT towers for small scale and home grown (India-based) medium IT companies would come up at Akkaramplli near Tirupati and IT Parks for multinational IT companies would be established at Adibatla and Koheda in Ranga Reddy District.

Lands for these IT incubation centres, IT parks and towers would be allotted to APIIC by the government soon.

The government's intention was to help in the even spread of IT companies to boost employment opportunities and attain balanced all round growth.

Dr Reddy was told the sixth edition of GITEX India 2007 would be held here from January nine to 11 next. The highlight this time was that the event would be coincide with the India Soft exhibition sponsored by the it Ministry of the central government.

Over 200 delegations from 40 countries would participate in this mega event.

Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology Mr Dayanidhi Maran and other dignitaries would attend, the event.

It was also decided the AP Pollution Control Board would accept applications of IT campuses, IT Parks, IT SEZs for environmental clearance from the Centre.
