ILS facility in Dimapur airport

Kohima, Oct 30 (UNI) The Airport Authorities have completed ground work for full functioning of the Instrumental Landing System (ILS) at the Dimapur airport.

Airport authority said a special aircraft would arrive in Dimapur to complete calibrated work of the newly installed ILS, which would make an aerial survey.

Once the ILS facility is functional, landing of the aircraft at Dimapur airport would be easier.

Sources said it has been several months since the ILS facility was installed but the calibration exercise was delayed.

On Friday, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had send a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel urging the Centre to start A319 aircraft from the Dimapur airport after cancellation of Boeing flights. Dimapur is the only airport in landlocked Nagaland.
