ICICI Private Banking golf masters from Nov 12

Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) ICIC Bank today announced its Private Banking golf masters which will be held across 17 cities from November 12 to March 18, 2007.

The tournament will see more than 1,400 golfers, all of them High Net Worth Clients of ICICI Bank's private banking division. The tournament to be held across 17 cities and 20 golf courses is the largest invitational corporate golf event in India.

Addressing a press conference here today V Vaidyanathan, Executive Director, ICICI Bank said that this Private Banking Masters tournament has been one of the ways of thanking our clients who are all avid golfers.

Professional golfers Shiv Kapur and Gaurav Ghei will be the ambassadors for the tournament and travel to different cities to spread the game of golf at the grassroot level.

The tournament will be played on individual stableford of full handicap on one round of 18 holes.

This means that players will score points on their net scores as follows - Bogey or worse: one point; par: two points; birdie: three points and eagle: four points.

The players with the highest individual points totals for 18 holes on net and gross will qualify for the national finals. It was also announced that the prizes will also be awarded for the second and third place players in each city on individual net and gross scores. Special prizes also will be given for the longest drive and closest to the hole winners.

Two players from each leg will go through to the national finals where the same scoring will apply and a national gross and national net winner will be declared after 18 holes, it was announced on the occasion, adding that ties at each stage will be broken on countback on the best last nine holes.

The cities where these masters will be held are Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Dehradun, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Belgaum, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Kolkata and Jamshedpur.

The championship will tee of from Golden Greens Golf Resort, Gurgaon, while the Grand Finale will be held at Amby Valley Golf Course at Lonavla on March 18, 2007.
