HM militant among two killed, one abducted, one arrested in J

Srinagar, Oct 30 (UNI) A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant was among two people killed while one villager abducted in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said.

He said security, forces arrested a militant of Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered arms and ammunition, from him.

The spokesman said militants kidnapped one Iqbal Mir, alias Reyaz Mir, at village Qasbalya, Rajpora, in south Kashmir district of Pulwama last night. However, his body with throat slit was recovered from the nearby fields this morning.

Militants also abducted one Mohammad Amin Dar from his shop at Tral in the same district last night. A massive hunt has been launched to trace him.

He said a HM militant, Shabir Piswal, alias Sadiq, was killed in an encounter with the security forces at Kadura forest, Bandipora in north Kashmir. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants, he said, adding, one AK rifle, two magazines, one wireless set and 35 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.

He said a militant of LeT was arrested after a brief encounter with a joint search party of security forces and police at Killanwali in Doda district of Jammu region.
