Himachal ADGP Thind suspendsed

Shimla. Oct 30 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government today suspended Additional Director General of Police B S Thind, who was arrested by the CBI for fraudulant financial dealings.

''He was deemed to be suspended after remaining in custody for more than 48 hours, as per rules, '' ADGP, Mr Ashwani Kumar said announcing the state government's suspesnion order.

The DGP would take care of Law and Order, which was held by Thind, while he was ADGP, while Mr L D Bhandari, Inspector General (CID) has been given charge of CID, also held by Thind, he said.

The controversial ADGP was sent in 14-day judicial remand till November 11 by a CBI court in Patiala on Saturday.

Thind, wanted in cases of financial bungling, including getting multiple bank loans against a single plot, was arrested on Friday by the Central Bureau of Investigation at Chandigarh.

Thind's lawyers have moved a bail application in the court, which will be heard tomorrow.
