HC issues notices to Lt Guv, police in Manchanda case

New Delhi, October 30 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today issued notices to the Delhi Lt Governor and the SHO of Mukherjee Nagar police station on a petition filed by the son of suspended Police Inspector Devender Manchanda who had allegedly committed suicide.

Manchanda's son Prashant has filed a petition before the court to order registration of an FIR against city Police Commissioner K K Paul for abetting his father's suicide.

Justice B D Ahmed sought status report from the Police and set November 13 for the next hearing, Under suspension from the service for the last two years, Manchanda (55) had allegedly committed suicide on October 13 by consuming some poisonous substance. His body was found on the Barakhamba road near Connaught Place.
