Harburg offers expertise in eco growth while protecting environment
New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) A German delegation has offered help to Delhi achieve economic growth through industrialisation while safeguarding the environment.
The delegation, led by Michael Freytag, Minister of City Development and Environment, Hamburg (Germany), during its meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit discussed cooperation in public transport, drinking and waste-water management.
Stressing that both Delhi and Hamburg had several similarities, Mr Fretag said his city had achieved business success while protecting environment through public-private partnership and was keen to replicate the historic port city's sustainable development story here.
The delegation was also exploring the scope for cooperation in water and sanitation management, promotion of renewable sources of energy and urban development, he added.
It also met Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram later.
