Ghatkopar bus blast case prime witness turns hostile
Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) A prime witness in the 2003 Ghatkopar bus blast case, Dilip Wankhede, today turned hostile in the special POTA court here and denied he had ever identified the accused in the case.
Two people were killed on the spot when a bomb, underneath a seat in a BEST bus (route no. 340), exploded in July 2003. Wankhede was the conductor of the bus and the complainant in the case.
However, while deposing before POTA judge S S Joshi today, Wankhede said he had neither identified two of the accused nor given any statement to the police against them.
The two accused -- Ashrat Ansari and Fahameeda Hanif-- were ,however, identified by other witnesses.
