Four acquitted in Nayapatti murder case

Barrackpore, Oct 30 (UNI) Altogether four of the 23 accused of the Saltlake Nayapatti murder case were held guilty while 19 others, including soccer players Sashti Duley, Dipankar Ray and pop singer Layla Alias Suparna Adhikary, were acquitted today here by a local court.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Bibyojoti Dey announced the judgement and held Dilip Banerjee alias Hatkata Dilip and his associates, Raju Biswas, Saheb Mandal and Anup Bera, guilty under sections 302 and 34 of the IPC.

At least two people were killed during a function at Nayapatti under Salt Lake police station area on June 27,2004 followed by a clash between two rival groups of anti-socials.
