Extremists blow up railway track in Bihar to enforce bandh
Bettiah,Bihar, Oct 30(UNI) The engine and five coaches of a passenger train derailed early morning today as suspected CPI (Maoist) activists blew up about 100 metre stretch of railway track near Chamua halt between Narkatiyaganj and Harinagar stations under Samastipur division of East Central Railway.
No casualty or injury to any passenger was reported while train services on Narkatiyaganj-Gorakhpur rail route were suspended after the blast.
Railway officials rushed at the site to supervise restoration works, railway sources said.
Sonepur-Gorakhpur passenger train was passing through the Chamua halt when the ultras triggered a powerful bomb causing damage to railway tracks.
The sabotage was caused to stop movement of trains during the 24-hour bandh in four states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa and Chhatishgarh sponsored by proscribed CPI(Maoist) to protest arrests of four top 'commanders' of the outfit.
