Burglars fail to break open SBI locker, took away weapons in Kargil

Kargil, Oct 30 (UNI) Thieves made an unsuccessful attempt to break open the State Bank of India (SBI) main chest in Kargil but managed to run away with one rifle and some rounds late last night.

Official sources said a group of burglars entered the SBI brach at Lashker in Kargil district of Ladakh region late last night after breaking open the lock of the main gate.

However, they failed to break open the chest.

They later took away one double barrel gun along with 10 rounds of ammunition.

Police have registered an FIR and started investigation, the sources said.
