BJP terms Sonia's visit a flop
Shimla, Oct 30 (UNI) Terming the visit of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi as a flop, the BJP today demanded the Congress bear the entire expenses for the day's show rather than wasting public money from the exchequer.
In a statement issued here, former Chief Minister P K Dhumal said, Mrs Sonia Gandhi and the Congree leadership had once again disappointed the people of the state. ''Normally the UPA chairperson announces'', he said.
The BJP leader said people were hoping that Mrs Gandhi would give the go-ahead for broad gauging of the Pathankot-Jogindernagar rail line, laying of rail line from Bhanupali to Armana, Chandigarah to Baddi but she disppointed everyone.
''Everyone was confident she would announce something to tackle the problem of price rise and unemployment but in this regard too she did nothing,'' he said and added as such the visit of Mrs Gandhi was a burden on the people of the state and the government has misusued public funds for her visit.
He said in case Mrs Gandhi has felt that Kangra was being sidelined, she should take some steps to address the grievances of the region.
