Birla Corp reports 272 per cent rise in net
Kolkata, Oct 30: Birla Corporation Limited, the flagship company of the M P Birla Group, today reported a 272 per cent jump in profit at Rs 67.54 crore for the July-September period.
The company achieved highest ever second quarter turnover of Rs 417.06 crores, a 35 per cent growth over the same quarter of the previous year.
Mr Rajendra S Lodha, Chairman, Birla Corporation Limited, attributed the strong second quarter financials to increase in volume of blended cement, better realization and good market conditions in the Cement Division.
Mr Lodha said effective steps are being taken to expand its cement capacity by 1.25 million tons at its plants at Satna, M.P., and Chanderia, Rajasthan, by debottlenecking.
The power cost has also come down on account of installation of captive power plants at Satna and Chanderia.
