Ashok Jha appointed as Finance Secretary, C T Misra to head SSC

New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) The appointment committee of the cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr Ashok Jha as the Finance Secretary and Secretary Department of Economic Affairs.

Mr Jha, who is an IAS officer of 1969 batch from Andhra Pradesh, would replace Mr Adarsh Kishore who is likely to join the International Monetary Fund as the Director.

The cabinet has also cleared appointment of Ms C T Misra as Chairperson of the Staff Selection Commission, an official release said here today.

Ms Misra, IAS of 1972 batch Gujarat cadre is presently Secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

Mr Yashwant Bhave, IAS of 1972 batch from Maharashtra has been appointed as the Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs while Mr P K Mishra, of the 1972 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Mr Sanjiv Misra, IAS of 1972 batch Gujarat cadre has been appointed as Secretary, Department of expenditure. Mr Vinod Rai, an IAS of Kerala cadre, as Secretary Financial Sector in the Department of Economic affairs.

Mr R P Agrawal, an IAS of 1972 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre has been appointed as Secretary Department of higher education in the Human Resource Development Ministry.

Mr Naresh Dayal, an IAS of Uttar Pradesh cadre of 1972 batch has been appointed as the Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

However, Mr Chandra Pal, an IAS of Uttar Pradesh cadre of 1972 batch, would continue as the Principal Advisor of the Planning Commission.
