3 anti-social outfits spreading in K'taka: Kumaraswamy
Mysore, Oct 30 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said the Government has received information that three or four anti-social organisations other than Al Badr and al-Qaeda were spreading their tentacles in the State.
Speaking to reporters at Nanjangud, near here, he said the organisations, internationally banned for their unlawful activities, were trying to disturb peace in the State and the Government had made elaborate security arrangements all over the State. Tight vigil was being maintained at vantage points, vital installations and institutions at various places. The Government would not tolerate any unlawful activity at any cost, he added.
The Chief Minister said he held a high-level meeting with senior officials, including police officers, and discussed at length the security measures undertaken in the State in the wake of the arrest of two Pakistani militants in Mysore recently.
Mr Kumaraswamy said the second high-level meeting would be convened shortly in Bangalore, during which the situation in the State would be reviewed, besides the progress of the arrest case.
Lauding the Karnataka police, particularly the Mysore police, for nabbing the two ultras, he said the Karnataka police had earned the distinction of being capable to face any threat.
Earlier, the Chief Minister presented a silver crown and a sword to the Srikanteswara temple.
