Bangalore, Oct 29 (UNI) Police have no clue about the whereabouts of the 16 Pakistani citizens who came to watch the India-Pakistan one-day cricket match in the city two years ago but later went underground, Karnataka Director General of Police B S Sial said here today.

Speaking to mediapersons on the developments after the arrest of two Al-Badr terrorists in Mysore two days ago, he said the Pakistanis who came on a visitor's visa did not return to Pakistan as per the police records and had been absconding since them.

However, police did not have information on their presence in the city or in the state. ''They have not gone back to Pakistan through proper channel which will be recorded by the police. But we do not know whether they are still in the state or have gone back to their country through other routes like via Nepal, Bangladesh or by crossing the Indian border,'' he said.

For any Pakistan citizen who visits India is bound to disclose his place of stay when he visits the country. Police then verify their whereabouts. But there are cases when these people give a fake address,'' the official added.
