Vijaya Bank, Punjab and Western Railways win on day two

Jamshedpur, Oct 29 (UNI) Men Vijaya Bank and Punjab cagers of and Western Railways team in women's section posted win in their respective pool's matches on the second day of the 22nd Federation cup basketball championship here today.

Vijaya Bank, after the defeat against Inidan Overseas Bank last night in the men's pool B match, registered victory over BSF, Jodhpur, 80-51 points. The half time score was 46-23 in favour of bankmen.

In another match of men's pool B, Tata Steel Training Centre (TSTC) lost second consecutive matches today as Punjab outclassed the local outfit by 70-38 points. Punjab cagers were leading 34-12 during halftime. TSTC lost to BSF last night.

In the women's pool A match, Western Railway faced tough challenge from Kerala after a big win (72-12) against Maharashtra last night. The Railways established a narrow 20-16 point lead during half time and clinched the match 49-35 points as L Joshep scored 20 points for the winner while Sonia Joshep had 11 points for the loser.

In the men's pool a match ONGC defeated Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) 80-58 points last night.
