TVS-E quarter 2 revenue up by Rs 16.75 crore

New Delhi, Oct 29: TVS Electronics Limited (TVS-E ) today reported revenue of Rs 69.36 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 against Rs 52.61 crore during the corresponding quarter last.

The company achieved 6.3 per cent EBIDTA during the quarter ended September 30, 2006 against 5.8 per cent during corresponding quarter last year through significant cost reduction programmes.

With an impressive growth in sales during this quarter, the profitability substantially improved in this period as compared to previous quarter ended June, 30 2006.

''TVS-E is ideally poised to leverage its portfolio in core printers, keyboards and digital home access products. Our cost improvement programmes have yielded rich dividends and our focus will now be in bringing new products to the market,'' said TVS Electronics Director Gopal Srinivasan.

TVS-E sustained its leadership position in Dot Matrix Printers with an estimated market share of 36 per cent as it shipped over 41,000 units during this quarter.

In the Keyboards category the company had its best performance ever as it delivered over 136,000 units.

Major orders won during this quarter included Indian Bank, ELCOT, UP Irrigation Dept among others.

Apart from providing customer support for its dot matrix printers, the company also provides support for electronic data capturing terminals for various banks and telecom majors.

The company exported Power products to Europe to an extent of Rs 11.08 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2006.
