SP to protest removal of names from BPL list
Bhopal, Oct 29 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party will launch a statewide agitation from November 3 to protest the removal of names of thousands of persons from BPL list and to demand their reinclusion.
SP legislator Sunilam told reporters here today that a protest march will be organised from Shahjahani park to Vidhan Sabha premises here as a part of the agitation under SP MP Akhilesh Yadav's leadership.
He claimed that the Election Commission records showed that 38 lakh people were living below poverty line. However, the names of several lakh of people had been removed because of parameters set by the state government depriving such people from foodgrain from ration shops.
Besides, self-help groups had been forced to procure loans at 12 per cent interest instead of two per cent interest earlier.
He added that state party incharge Uday Pratap Singh, National general secretary Om Pal Singh 'Nidar' and other party leaders will take part in the meeting.
