SP to develop Varanasi as 'ideal heritage city': UP Minister
Varanasi, Oct 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Shiv Pal Singh Yadav today said that only the Mulayam Singh Yadav government could develop Varanasi into an ''ideal heritage city.'' Addressing an election rally at the National Inter College here Mr Yadav, the sibling of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, said if the SP was voted to power in Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN), the city would be developed into an ''ideal heritage city.'' The VNN would never be allowed to suffer financial crunch Mr Yadav said.
Mr Yadav, also the PWD Minister, further claimed that the Mulayam Singh government had proved its worth by living up to public expectations.
''The three years of SP rule in UP have ushered development which did not take place during the over five-decade rule of other governments in the state,'' Mr Yadav said, enumerating the popular Kanya Vidyadhan and Unemployment Allowance schemes of the Mulayam Singh government.
