Latur, Maharashtra, Oct 29 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today reiterated her support to the Women's Reservation Bill, saying the women fraternity should understand that she needs to convince the UPA coalition partners to bring about a consensus on the same.

Addressing the party workers from Marathwada at Chakur, near here, Ms Gandhi said she had to convince UPA coalitions partners Lalu Prasad, Dayanidhi Maran, and Ramdas Athwale and other parties supporting the Congress-led UPA Government on the issue.

Taking a cue from the speech of Ms Rajni Patil, Chairman of the social welfare board (Central Government), Ms Gandhi said she fully rallied behind the women and recalled that it was her husband and former Prime Minister the late Rajiv Gandhi who offered reservations to the women through the Panchayat Raj and she was aware of the fact, it was his dream to offer more to the women, towards which she will have to make sincere efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, MPCC Chief Prabha Rau said leaders of her party, including the Congress President, always preferred to rush to the needy and affected when needed.
