Seven wardens transferred

Chennai, Oct 29 (UNI) Seven wardens of Chennai Central Prison here were transferred for allegedly supplying mobile phones and banned drugs to the inmates, police said.

The transfer of the wardens followed a raid conducted by the city police and senior prison officials, following reports of supply of drugs and mobile phones inside the prison.

Those transferred were Margabandhu, Anbazhagan, Nizamuddin, Raj, Rajan, Ratan and Muniraj.

The raids lasted three hours during which the bomb disposal squad personnel were also present.
