Seema Antil to lead Haryana athletes

Chandigarh, Oct 29 (UNI) World Junior discus throw champion Seema Antil of Sonepat will lead Haryana in the Inter-State Senior National Athletic Championship to be held in Chennai from November 2 to 4, according to Haryana State Athletic Association (Abhey Chautala faction) secretary H S Bhadu.

Other members of the team are: Sunil Kumar (1500, 5000m), Sandeep Kumar (1500m), Mahabir Singh (pole vault), Digvijay Singh (pole vault), Suresh Kumar (pole vault), Om Parkash (shot put), Sandeep, Anil Kumar, Pardeep (20 km walk), Saroj Sihag (shot put, discus), Mukesh Kumari (javelin) and Aarti Yadav (high jump).

Meanwhile, the HSAAA will conduct selection trials for junior athletes at Ch Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School, Nidani (Jind) on November 11. The selected athletes will represent Haryana in the National Junior Athletic Championship to be held at Bangalore from November 25 to 28. Selection trials will be held for boys and girls in the age group of 20, 18, 16 and 14.

Interested athletes should report to institute director Dalip Singh along with original date of birth certificate and identity cards issued by Athletic Federation of India.
