Punjab dominate Himachal Pradesh in CK Nayudu

Patiala, Oct 29 (UNI) An enterprising innings of 89 not out by Ravi Inder Singh Mehra put Punjab in the driver's seat against Himachal Pradesh in the Inter-state Col C K Nayadu (Under-22) Trophy on the opening day of the three-day tie here at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Himachal Pradesh won the toss and elected to bat first, and were skittled out for a paltry 85. Barun Sharma was the only batsman who played with some confidence, scoring 21 with four fours. Hardevinder Singh and Amanpreet Singh captured four wickets each, giving away 43 and 22 runs respectively. Vishwas Bhalla captured two wickets, conceding 19 runs.

In reply, Punjab were 157 for two at draw of stumps.

Ravi Inder Singh 89 not out and Gaurav Gupta 20 not out were at the crease at close.

Paras Dogra and Mohinder Sharma captured a wicket each, giving away 53 and 38 runs respectively.
