Poonam Mahajan to become party member on Oct 30

Mumbai, Oct 29: Ms Poonam Mahajan-Rao, daughter of late Pramod Mahajan will take the BJP's membership tomorrow in presence of Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari and senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde.

Tomorrow is the birth anniversary of late Mahajan, who was shot at by his younger brother Pravin on April 22 and succumbed to the injuries after 11 days.

Earlier, there were reports of his son Rahul Mahajan joining the politics. He had even attended the meeting of the party's national executive committee, and also addressed the meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha which was organised to demand death penalty to Mohammad Afzal.

However, he along with late Bibek Biman Moitra, personal assistant to late Mahajan got involved in the drug controversy in which Moitra died. Recently Rahul got married with his colleague from Jet Airways. Rahul, who had produced a few serials so far will also release a documentary on the life of his father tomorrow. He has not joined the party so far.
