People will form Telangana state: Renuka Chowdhary

Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhary today said that a separate Telengana would come about by the efforts of the people of the region.

Speaking to newspersons here, Ms Chowdhary said the AICC President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was committed to a democratic process in the formation of seperate Telangana.

''We are committed to the development of Telangana. The bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was in the hands of Ms Sonia, who shall take a decision at an appropriate time'', she said.

To a question, she said the Congress would not react to the challenges posed by the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President and former Union Minister K Chandrsekhara Rao who recently said he would withdraw from contesting Karim Nagar Lok Sabha by-election if the Congress gave assurance for formation of Telangana state.
