Notorius criminal killed in encounter

Madhepura, Oct 29 (UNI) A notorious criminal and close associate of gangster Buchan Yadav was killed in an encounter with police at Sarsaul village in Madhepura district.

Superintendent of Police Anil Kishore Yadav said the victim had been identified as Pappu Yadav, a sharp shooter of the Buchan Yadav gang.

An automatic rifle and several live cartridges were recovered from the spot, he added.

Joint combing operation by Madhepura and Purnea police had been launched to nab the gangster, who managed to escape during the raid, police said.
