No consultation with third country for Indo-Nepal treaty: DPM Oli
Kathmandu, Oct 29(UNI) Nepal Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs KP Sharma Oli has ruled out any need for consultations with a third country for Nepal-India bilateral treaty issues, media reports said.
'There is no need to discuss the Nepal-India extradition treaty issue with Pakistan,' Kantipur quoted Oli as saying.
The Pakistan Embassy in Nepal a few days ago had shown its interest towards the treaty, yet to be finally stamped, it said.
The Nepal-India extradition treaty comprises a clause that allows extraditing criminals from a third country as well, to which the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal had raised its objection and had demanded a similar treaty, The News said.
Mr Oli is on an official visit to India from November 5 to 10.
He said the agenda of the visit is yet to be finalised.
