New depression forms over West Central Bay of Bengal
Visakhapatnam, Oct 29 (UNI) A depression formed this morning over West Central Bay of Bengal off coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining North Tamil Nadu coast.
According to a spokesman of Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here, the depression was likely to intensify further and move towards north Andhra coast and cross a westerly direction between Bapatla and Kakinada by tonight.
Under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at most places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
Winds with speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph were likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
As the sea will be very rough along Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu coasts, fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm during the last 24 hours were- Ongole 19, Kakinda 13, Kavali and Nellore seven each, Bapatla six and Somepeta four.
