Koda announces Rs one lakh compensation

Jamshedpur, Oct 29 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda tonight announced Rs one lakh compensation to next of kin of each seven youths who drowned in the Subarnarekha during Chhat puja here this morning.

Mr Koda, who came here to attend a feliciation programme this evening, had cancelled it and straight away went to the houses of the victims at Nirmalnagar in Bhuiyandih.

He spent more than an hour with the bereaved family members and consoled them. Mr Koda was accompanied by Jharkhand minister Dulal Bhuinya and the Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahto.
