Srinagar, Oct 29 (UNI) An organisation of 'sadhus' from Kashmir today accused a rival Jammu-based group of misleading the entire community by making statements and resorting to protests over the issue of death sentence to parliament attack mastermind Mohammad Afzal Guru.

In a statement here, Shri Vaishnav Vearagi Sadhu Dharm Sathan Suraksha Samiti distanced itself from the decisions taken at a meeting chaired by Mahant Rameshwar Das at Akhnoor in the Jammu region on October 20. The organisation also disassociated itslef from the actions taken thereof.

The meeting expressed regret that some people were claiming to be the representatives of the entire 'sadhu' community of the state.

''These people were misleading the entire sadhu community by making statements and resorting to protests on the issue of death sentence to Afzal Guru,'' the organisation said.

The statement said the decision was taken at a crucial meeting of the Shri Vaishnav Vearagi Sadhu Dharm Sathan Suraksha Samiti chaired by Mahant Swami Madhav Das here today.
