Jaya accuses DMK of intimidating AIADMK concillors
Chennai, Oct 29 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today accused the ruling DMK of intimidating and using force against elected AIADMK councillors.
In a statement here, she said the DMK Government, after "letting loose violence" in the local body elections, was now setting off terror against AIADMK cadre.
Listing out several municipalities, where she alleged that the elected councillors of the AIADMK were intimidated by DMK partymen in "connivance" with government officials, Ms Jayalalithaa said "the day is not far off when Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and his family will be kept away from politics by the public." Recalling Mr Karunanidhi's statement that he was not keen on holding power in the state, she questioned as to why he was "intimidating" government officials to get his partymen elected to top posts in the local bodies.
