Indian introduces winter schedule with new flights
New Delhi, Oct 29: Pursuing its aggressive expansion plans to increase market share and revenues, national carrier Indian today launched its winter schedule with several new links, new flights and increased frequency on its domestic and international network.
From November 2, Bangalore will be connected with five flights a week to the tourist destination Male in Maldives. The day return flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. An introductory return air fare of Rs 10,000 is available on this sector.
At present, Indian operates a daily flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Male.
On the Gulf sector, Indian will introduce a second direct flight from Delhi to Dubai shortly.
On the domestic front, the temple town of Tirupati is being linked to Delhi with a daily A320 flight. The flight will operate via Hyderabad in both directions. An introductory fare of Rs 2,875 (exclusive of taxes) is on offer till November 7. A Tirupati darshan holiday package has also been made available.
Another first is a non-stop bi-weekly A320 link from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar. The high density Delhi-Mumbai sector will see the addition of a 11th daily flight while a fourth flight has been introduced on the Delhi-Kolkata route. The frequency of several flights has also been increased to match increasing demand. The Kolkata-Bagdogra service will now be thrice a week and Kolkata-Aizawl-Imphal-Kolkata will be four times a week.
Similarly, on the international sector, Kolkata-Kathmandu service will now operate four times a week. The frequency on the Bangkok-Gaya sector has already been increased to thrice a week from October.
Indian's subsidiary Alliance Air has also introduced thrice weekly Silchar-Agartala and twice weekly Guwahati-Dimapur flights.
The Delhi-Jodhpur-Udaipur-Mumbai flight will operate every day against four flights a week.
