Four new LeT recruits among five arrested in Mahore

Jammu, Oct 29 (UNI) The Army today apprehended an LeT militant, along with four teenage recruits, from Mahore in Udhampur district, an official spokesman here said.

A Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant, Riaz Ahamed, was apprehended along with four new recruits at Killanwali in Mahore tehsil of Udhampur, Nagrota-based XVI Corps' spokesman Col D K Badola told UNI.

Indentified as Jamaldin, Ashiq Ali, Bahardin and Nishant, the recruits were between the age group of 13 to 19 and residents of Saldhar in Mahore, the spokesman said.

A .303 rifle and a 12 bore gun, along with some ammunition, were recovered from the militants.

The Army has not ruled out the possibility of Riaz being a local recruiter or trainer of the LeT, the Pakistan-based terrorist group operating in Jammu and Kashmir. ''All of them are in custody and interrogation is going on,'' Col Badola added.
