Depression to cause rains in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Oct 29 (UNI) Rains and thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over South Orissa and North Orissa during the next 24 hours following a depression over West Central Bay of Bengal.

Met sources here today said the depression lay centred at about 50 km East of Nellore in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, is likely to move in a northerly direction and cross Andhra Pradesh coast between Bapatla and Kakinada by tonight.

The authorities had hoisted the Distant Cautionary Signal Number one at Gopalpur and Paradip ports and advised the local fishermen not to venture into theopen sea.
