Depression over South Andhra to cause heavy rain in AP
Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours as a depression has formed over west central Bay of South Andhra and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coast today.
According to the officials of Meteoroligical department, the depression was likely to move in a northerly direction and cross Andhra coast between Bapatla and Kakinada by tonight.
Northeast monsoon had been vigorous over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain occurred at a few places over Telangana and Rayalaseema.
The stations recorded very heavy rainfall were Ongole with 19 cm, Kakinada 13 cm and heavy rainfall in Kavali, Repalle (Guntur district) with 8 cm each and Nellore recorded 7 cm rainfall.
