Boat capsize: 1 dead, 4 swept away
Khandwa, MP, Oct 29 (UNI) Five persons from Mumbai -- including a woman -- were swept away after a boat carrying 16 pilgrims capsized today in the Narmada near this district's Omkareshwar jyotirlinga, the police said.
The woman's body has been fished out.
The victims were en route to the Narmada confluence from Omkareshwar's Nagar Ghat. Eleven persons were saved by boatmen. The corpse was identified as Bhuleshwar locality-resident Shakuntala Devi (50). Rajendra Agrawal, Surendra, Shivhari and Murari -- also from Bhuleshwar -- are missing.
They had travelled in a special bus from Indore to Omkareshwar.
The boatman concerned is missing.
