12,000 liters spirit seized from lorry

Palakkad, Kerala Oct 29 (UNI) The Excise Department has seized 12,000 litres of spirit, valued at Rs 20 lakh, from Kozhinjampara last night.

Lorry driver, Selvaraj (46) hailing from Kozhinjanparam was arrested in this connection.

The spirit was concealed in empty tomato boxes and plywoods in about 330 cans in the lorry, officials said.

The lorry was proceeding to Thrissur from Pollachi.
