SP activist shot dead during local bodies polling

Muzaffarnagar, Oct 28 (UNI) Muzaffar Rana, a Samajwadi Party activist, was shot dead and a Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) worker was injured in group clash during the ongoing local bodies elections here today.

The incident occurred when two groups belonging to SP and RLD clashed during the polling in Kidwai Nagar locality this afternoon.

Rana was a native of Sujadu village.

Additional police force had been deployed in the area following tension, official sources said.
