Police reviews investigation into e-mail threat
Kochi, Oct 28: A high-level meeting of the police officials under the aegis of Central Zone DIG K Padmakumar was held here today to review the investigation into the e-mail threat to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his scheduled visit to the state on November one.
Mr Padmakumar, heading a special squad to investigate the case, told UNI that the meeting of top district police officials including City Police Commissioner P Vijayan was called to review the progress in the investigation.
He said the probe was progressing but declined to divulge any details.
Police yesterday rounded up the owner of the internet cafe here, from where reportedly the e-mails were send, his wife and other two employees for questioning.
The e-mails, sent to some top officials, threatened Prime Minister during his scheduled visit to the state capital and also contained a threat to the President.
