Police raid residence of terrorist's kin

Kozhikode, Oct 28 (UNI) Police today raided the residence of a relative of Muhammed Fahd, the suspected Al-Badr extremist arrested in Mysore, and confiscated some letters written by his father and sister from Pakistan.

Rural Superintendent of Police Aboobacker, who headed the raid team at the residence of his step-mother at Kappad near here, said the contents of eleven letters, written in Urdu, were personal in nature and no incriminating documents were found.

He said investigations had revealed that Fahd visited the place for a short flick about three months ago. A police team from Karnataka was expected to arrive here for detailed investigations, as the suspect was nabbed in that state, he added.

Fahd was arrested along with another terrorist, Mohd Ali-Hussain, in an encounter at Mysore on the night of October 26. Fahd is son of Abdulla Koya, who migrated to Pakistan in 1971.

Koya, a native of Peruvayal in the district, was living in Kappad with his first wife before he went to Pakistan.

Fahd, who was reportedly granted a 45-day visa to see his grandparents one-and-a-half years ago, overstayed, violating the norms.
