Moderate quake shakes Central America

Managua (Nicaragua), Oct 28: A moderate 5.5-magnitude earthquake shook rural Nicaragua, close to the border with El Salvador and Honduras, the US Geological Survey said in a preliminary report.

No damage or injuries were reported in the quake, which hit at 1853 hrs yesterday (0623 hrs IST), 70 km northwest of the Nicaraguan city of Chinandega and 115 km south-southwest of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
