Menon meets Basu

Kolkata, Oct 28 (UNI) Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon met veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu on a 'courtesy call' at his residence today.

The newly appointed Foreign Secretary, who arrived in the city this afternoon, drove straight to 'Indira Bhavan', Mr Basu's residence at Salt Lake to meet him.

The meeting was described as a courtesy call.

Later, Mr.Menon went to the state Secretariat at Writers Buildings to hold a meeting on border situation with Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
