Jeev soars to tied 9th at Volvo Masters

Sotogrande, Spain, Oct 28 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh carded a successive level-par 71 but the modest performance was enough for him to break into the top-10 at the tied ninth spot after the second round of the five million dollar Volvo Masters here.

Jeev has a total of 142 after earning his place in the elite field with his 44th ranking on the European Tour Order of Merit.

Jeev blasted two birdies on the first nine but dropped two shots on the back nine as he spiraled up to joint ninth spot.

The Indian trails leader Henrik Stenson (68) of Sweden by four shots in the European Tour's season ending event.

The 34-year-old Indian once again had a flawless front nine after starting with a first hole birdie. Jeev gained another shot on the eighth but for the second day in a row, he lost his way on his return journey.

Jeev stumbled to consecutive bogeys on the 12th and 13th but the slide could not prevent him from shooting up the leaderboard.
