Indian Oil Corporation's oil spill in Dausa dist
Jaipur, Oct 28: The theft of crude oil from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) pipeline in Dausa district has resulted in spillage of several gallons of oil in the surrounding fields.
Acording to police, the theft of crude oil from the pipeline have been going on for years. But the breakage of valve in Sarai village resulted in oil spill over two bighas of field.
OIC's Deputy General Manager (pipelines) O P Soni said the leakage occured around noon yesterday and the pipeline was repaired late night and the spillage is not much.
Mr Soni said, ''We will change the affected soil and send its sample for treatment to our centre. There is no chance of any harm to the environment.'' He, however, could not confirm the amount of spillage.
