ICICI Prudential launches 'Diabetes Care'

Mumbai, Oct 28: ICICI Prudential Life Insurance today announced the launch of its critical illness insurance, ''Diabetes Care'', especially for people with type two diabetes.

Speaking to reporters, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance CEO Shikha Sharma said, ''With over 20 per cent of the world's diabetic individuals in India, there is an urgent need for a solution that both encourages and incentivises them to manage their condition better, and also offers them a financial cushion should they suffer from related critical illnesses.'' These are the key requirements we have taken into account while developing Diabetes Care, she added.

Dr M Rema from Dr Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre, speaking on the occasion, said regular treatment of diabetes is much less expensive than treatment for its complications.

This is where ICICI Prudential's Diabetes Care could make a huge difference and I congratulate them on bringing this for the benefit of millons of people with diabetes in India, Dr Rema added.
