Haryana games to begin from Nov 19

Kurukshetra, Oct 28 (UNI) About 3,000 sportspersons will participate in 25 different competitions during the 21st Haryana games which will be held here from November 19 to 22 this year.

Chess and Tae-ka-wando have been introduced this year for competitions, Haryana Olympic Association President Navin Jindal, MP, said at a press conference here last evening.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will inaugurate the sports festival on November 19 and State Governor A R Kidwai give away prizes to the winners at the concluding session on November 22.

Over Rs 45 lakhs will be spent on this festival.

Mr Jindal said sportspersons will be under the doping scanner this year and anyone found guilty of using drugs will be expelled from the event.

He warned those who may try to molest sportswomen during the festival. '' We will not exonerate those who are found indulging in such nefarious and shameful activities'', he added.
