Govt releases Rs 1 cr for Punjab Kesari memorial
Moga, Oct 28: The Punjab government has released a sum of Rs one crore for the beautification of the memorial of Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai at his birth place Dhudike in the district.
This was announced by Deputy Commissioner Dr Arvinder Singh when he visited Dhudike, the birth place of Lalaji.
Later, the DC alongwith other officials held a meeting with the Panchayat of the village and also reviewed the various development works being carried out there.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the Panchayat that the state government was determined to develop and beautify the historic village Dhudike.
Dr Singh also stated the state government has decided to construct, ''Gram Sabha Hall'' at cost of Rs 25 lakh and another sum of Rs five lakh would be spent on platform pedestral around the Lalaji's statue.
